The strike was a near-carbon copy of a goal Ronaldo scored for United against Fulham at the same stadium in 2007.

Speaking on commentary for the game, Gary Neville was quick to make the comparison.

Ever since the goal flew in, Twitter has gone crazy for the identical effort to make it 2-0 to the visitors.

One wrote: “Anthony Martial 2019 vs Ronaldo 2007. Almost a carbon copy goal. What a brilliant individual goal.”

However, not all fans appeared to agree – taking aim at Neville for his blasphemous comparison.
